What this archive is, how it treats other people's work, and how to get something removed.

What this is

Re-Wind Radio is a personal preservation project. It holds off-air radio recordings, mixtapes, jingles, idents and DJ sets captured on cassette, MiniDisc and DAT between the early 1980s and the early 2000s, alongside original production work made by Stevie Cripps.

The recordings are published for personal, historical and cultural interest — the sound of British radio as it was actually broadcast and actually heard. They are streamed, not sold.

Copyright

Material in The Archive contains third-party copyright. Broadcasts, the music within them, advertisements and station imaging all remain the property of their original rights holders. Nothing here transfers or claims any of that ownership, and nothing published here grants you a licence to redistribute it.

Material in My Productions is work Stevie made and owns outright, and is offered freely.

Supporter contributions

Supporter contributions fund the preservation work — the transfers, the equipment, the cleaning up and the running of this site. They are not a purchase of, or a licence to, any specific recording. Access levels are a thank-you to the people funding that work, not a sale of copyrighted material.

Takedown requests

If you own the rights to something published here and would like it removed, ask and it will be removed. There is no argument to be had and no form of proof required beyond a good-faith claim.

• Use the contact form and choose "I'm a rights holder — please remove something".
• Tell me which recording, and how to reach you.
• Requests are acknowledged and actioned within 5 working days.
• Where a request covers material still being reviewed, the recording is taken offline first and discussed afterwards.

Corrections

Dates, station names, presenters and running orders are reconstructed from memory, handwriting on tape labels and whatever the recordings themselves give away. Some of it will be wrong. Corrections are genuinely welcome through the same contact form — this archive gets more accurate every time someone who was there gets in touch.

Your data

Messages sent through the contact form are stored so they can be answered, and are not used for marketing or shared with anyone. Ask and they will be deleted.

This policy is written in plain English rather than legal language, and is kept deliberately short. Last updated August 2026.
